I never dreamed I would have my own business, working in a craft I love.
When my kids were little, I sewed some of their clothes, I made a few wall hangings, and a couple of basic tied blue jean quilts. Then life got busy and crazy, and I didn’t sew anything for more than a decade. Fast-forward to the onset of the pandemic in 2019; I dug out my sewing machine and my love of quilt-making began. I discovered MSQC on YouTube, and Jenny Doan made me feel like I could sew any kind of quilt I wanted!
Next problem, how do I actually quilt my quilts? Free-motion quilting for me was a total bust; not enough coordination, I suppose. I sent a bunch out to be long-armed, but my quilt tops soon began to pile up.
Then my Aunt Rita and I reconnected and began sewing together in the summer of 2021. She had the same difficulty; how do we get these flimsies quilted?! We dreamed of having a long-arm quilting machine at our disposal. What to do, what to do…

This is when my amazing husband, Terry, gets on board. Without hesitation, he saw the vision of a quilting business, and before long, our machine arrived! It has been an absolute blast learning how to use this longarm quilting machine, and we’re thankful to the folks at Kawartha Sewing and Quilting in Bethany, Ontario for the delivery, set-up, and support they’ve provided. After quilting dozens of quilts, I am confident that together we can produce the perfect combination of design and thread colour to beautifully compliment your work of art!
